The Johnsons

Some moments feel extra special to photograph—and this season is one of them.

Watching two of my best friends step into parenthood as they prepare to welcome their first baby girl has been such a meaningful thing to witness. She’s not here *just yet*, but she’s already so loved. You can feel her presence in the way they talk about the future, the way they move a little slower now, and the way everything already feels like it’s making space for her.

What makes this season even sweeter is how much I love *them*. They’re two of my favorite people—steady, kind, and so full of love. Seeing that love grow and shift as they get ready to become parents has been incredibly special. The way they look at each other now carries a little more depth, a little more anticipation. It’s quiet, it’s emotional, and it’s beautiful in the most real way.

And of course, they are two of my favorite people to photograph. Always have been. There’s such an ease between them—nothing forced, nothing performative. Photographing them during this season has felt natural and honest, filled with soft moments, laughter, and that unmistakable *almost there* energy. Every frame feels like a pause before everything changes in the best way.

This chapter is full of waiting, dreaming, and imagining who she’ll be. And even though she hasn’t made her entrance yet, she’s already changed everything. I already love her more than I can explain, and I know the moment she arrives, she’ll fit perfectly into a story that’s been written with so much intention and love.

To my two best friends: you’re going to be incredible parents. And to your sweet baby girl—we’re all ready for you. Almost. 🤍
