Louie + Taylor

Some sessions stick with you for the beauty of the light, others for the connection between the couple — and then there are those that stay in your heart forever for reasons much deeper.

Back in April, I had the honor of spending a rainy afternoon with Taylor and Louie for their engagement session at the Capitol buildings. The moment we met up, I knew it was going to be a special one. Despite the gray skies and steady rain, Taylor and Louie showed up with warmth, and the kind of love that you can’t help but feel even just standing next to them.

The Capitol’s grand staircases and classic architecture made the perfect backdrop — but it was their energy that truly made the session come to life. We climbed up and down countless stairs, and embraced the chaos of a full-on downpour.

I’m heartbroken to share that just a couple of short weeks after our session, Louie unexpectedly passed away. Taylor reached out to tell me that Louie absolutely loved the sneak peek photos they received. Knowing that these moments meant so much to him and now to their families… I don’t even have the words. My heart is absolutely with Taylor and everyone who loved Louie. I will carry this session with me forever — a reminder of love, of presence, and of the beauty in embracing each moment while we have it.
